Course Summary 

  • Swim:

    • 1 x 250m short lap for Novice / Junior Bolt and Aqua Bolt

    • 1 x 750m lap for Sprint

    • 2 x lap for 750m Standard/Aquabike

  • Bike:

    • 3/4 lap for Bolt

    • 1/2 and 1 x Full lap for Sprint/Duathlon

    • 3 x laps Standard/Aquabike

  • Run:

    • 2 x 5km laps for Standard

    • 1 x 5km lap for Sprint

    • 2km and 5km lap for Duathlon

    • 1 x 2km lap for Bolt and Aqua Bolt

  • Open Water Swim 1500m - 2 x lap of 750m

 

Event Tees

Event Tees - As not all participants want a race tee-shirt, participants have an option to purchase Race Tees during the registration process. 

Please note - the last day to order race tees is by 9pm, 01 March 2026.

 

Race Pack Collection
Pre race day registration pack collection (numbers, timing chip, swim cap, bike Id number) will now be available at the XTR Multisports store (Royce Court, 1/210 Winton Road, Joondalup)  on:​

  • Friday 27 March 2026 from 11am - 3pm

  • Saturday 28 March 2026 from 11am - 3pm

  • Sunday 29 March 2026 from 5:45am to 7:00am on race day at the race transition area Tom Simpson Park, Mullaloo Beach. 

Note  - If you 'do not start', withdraw or not hand in you Timing chip and strap you will be invoiced for the replacement cost if not returned to XTR Multisports by Friday 10th April 2026.

 

Please ensure you have registered and collected your race pack.  We strongly suggest to ensure race pack collection the day before the race to ensure you have plenty of time on race morning. 

Please note:

  • Photo ID or Registration Confirmation is required (a friend can collect on your behalf with a copy of your registration email)

  • We strongly suggest that all race packs are collected prior to the event at one of the times and locations shown above

Race Day Transition Access and Bike Check In

Bike check-in and racking will be on race day prior to race start between 5:45am to 7:00am sharp.   Be sure to get to the race in good time to register and rack your bike in time.  We strongly advise to pick up your registration pack on Friday 27th or Saturday 28 March 2026 to ensure sufficient time.  

Note - only after you have completed registration will you be able to rack your bike in transition.

 

Please ensure that before entering transition you will require your timing chip on (your left ankle) race number, bike identification number and helmet to gain entry to transition.  Helmets should be placed on your head and buckled up for a visual safety inspection.

  • Bib number body markings must be applied to your Right forearm and also it is important to have your timing chip on at all times until after the event. 

  • Timing chips must be removed and returned in the recovery area after crossing the finish line.

  • Participants must wear their race number during the bike and run leg. 

Transition Zones

Bike racks are in Rows with each Race distance having a dedicated Zone.

  • The Zones are:

    • Aqua Bolt  (your transition zone will be on the 'Left' hand side coming into the transition area and not amongst the bike racks).

    • Bolt

    • Sprint / Duathlon

    • Standard / Teams / Aquabike

 

Bike Racking Method

Please make yourself aware of the Triathlon Bike Racking method and Instructions:

  • Each bike rack has been marked with a blue decal/sticker with your Bib/Race number.

  • Please place your bike handlebars/cockpit forward in the direction of the decal/sticker that matches your race number.

  •  Bikes should be racked in an alternate sequence on either side of the bike racks.

  • Rack length can vary to accomodate 5-7 bikes - please be guided by the decal/sticker with Bib/Race number

  • x 2-4 bikes each side of a rack, no more than x6-7 bike per rack.

  • If you rack your bike in the wrong location or take up more than x1 decal of space, event staff under authority of technical officials will consolidate your area to 1 spot or relocate your bike.

Bag Drop

 A bag drop will be available near the XTR Multisports registration gazebo.  Small bag tags are attached to your bib race number, please secure them to you bag if you intend to use the bag drop area.   Please note that bag drop is self managed but you will need to show your race number to event staff when picking up your bag.

Waves Start Times (Note - updated 24/3/2026 - subject to change):

 

Please take note of the following:

  • There will be no start briefing on the beach, athletes are to ensure they make their way to the beach 5-10 minutes before your start wave.

  • An event briefing will be via a web link provided to all athletes prior to race day.

  • Athletes are to self-seed according to their swim ability

  • If your wave is not due to start keep off the starting area and Swim Exit area on the beach until such time as your race and start wave is due to start.

Race briefing

An event briefing will be via a web link provided to all athletes prior to race day and it is your responsibility to familiarise with the relevant points of the briefing and the course maps and information.  **Look out for your 'Race Weekend' email with the briefing web link.

Presentations

Rolling presentations will take place for each race distance at approximately the following times:

  • Bolt - 8:30am  (Note - no Aqua Bolt place awards)

  • Sprint - 9:15am

  • Duathlon Race - 9:15am

  • Open Water Swim - 9:15am

  • Standard Race & AquaBike - 10:30am

The presentations will start earlier if ahead of schedule. 
 

Race Divisions

  • Standard Distance (1.5/40.10)  - This race division is a Aus TriathlonT Age Group WT World Championship qualifying race (for TA/TWA Standard & Premium members).  The race categories are:

    • Open/Elite*,

    • Paratri

    • 20-24 yrs Male & Female

    • 25-29 Yrs Male & Female

    • 30-34 Yrs Male & Female

    • 35-39 Yrs Male & Female

    • 40-44 Yrs Male & Female

    • 45-49 Yrs Male & Female

    • 50-54 Yrs Male & Female

    • 55-59 Yrs Male & Female

    • 60-64 Yrs Male & Female

    • 65-69 Yrs Male & Female

Finisher Medals

In the tradition of the Mullaloo Triathlon, all finishers receive a race medal (Note - medal format may vary between race distances)

    • Sprint (14 -15yrs,  16 - 19yrs) - 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female - **WA State Championship Age Group winner Place Medals.  Note** Must be a current financial Triathlon Australia and TWA Standard or Premium annual member .

    • Sprint (+19yrs) - 1st, 2nd and 3rd (Place Medals) male and female 

  • Duathlon - 1st, 2nd and 3rd (Place Medals) male and female 

  • Aquabike - 1st male and female (Place Medals)

  • Standard Race

    • Standard Race (Elite/Open) - 1st (Trophy, Medal & $500), 2nd (Medal & $400), 3rd (Medal & $300) male and female - **WA State Championship Elite/Open winner Place Medals.   Note** Must be a current financial Triathlon Australia and TWA Standard or Premium annual member.  Note**Elite entry subject to approval by event organisers - athletes should always race in the same Category they nominated at the start of season.

    • Standard Race (Junior 16 - 19yrs) - 1st, (Trophy),  2nd and 3rd (Place Medals) male and female 

    • Standard Race (Age Groups) - 1st, 2nd and 3rd male, female age groups and 1st Paratri male, female - **WA State Championship Elite/Open winner Place Medals.   Note** Must be a current financial Triathlon Australia and TWA Standard or Premium annual member.

    • Standard Race (Teams) - Team Challenge - 1st place team (Medal - for each team member)

  • Open Water 1500m Swim- 1st male and female (Place Medals)

Note:  All lucky draw prizes on the day are only valid if your race number is drawn and you are personally present to receive the award at the prize giving on race day.  Lucky draw prizes for entrants not present at the race day prize giving will be invalid and their will be a re-draw for that prize.

Lucky draw prizes will be presented at all race distance presentations.
